By no means am I against interracial relationships, BUT I am wary of the Black man, White woman combo. Only because, it's significantly more common than others and I cannot recall for the life of me any that last very long. Not to mention the complicated history between Blacks and Whites. I'm even less secure of the validity between Black male athletes and their White mates. (I don't think I'll need to explain myself with that one).
However, a good friend of mine (who is White and I've only known her to date Black athletes...who may or may not be on the professional level) has been in a long term relationship with a soon to be pro, black as midnight, football player. Not since the very beginning of their relationship did I doubt their coupledoom, and I enjoy witnessing how happy they are together. They are truly in love and best friends. I've already been trying to figue out what their children would look like (which is as hard as interpreting Chinese).
Am I a hippocrite since I don't scrutinize their relationship as I do others, or have I actually witnessed true love? Can anyone else relate?
